Nails on main is a personal and family favorite. I try to book an appointment every time I'm in town.

The staff is qualified and friendly, certainly a group of interesting characters.

Quality of services provided were good, however, environment leaves much to be desired.



Staff, owner in particular, continually bad-mouths and complains about clients in front of other clients. Scheduling of appointments is inflexible and discriminatory. Should a client fall out of favor by, for example, rescheduling an appointment, they will be "completely booked" and unable to schedule you. I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with the complaints about clients by staff, and have since "fallen out of favor".



In the 10 months I was a client, with appointments every 2-3 weeks, I rescheduled only 3 times due to work-related conflicts, was on time for appointments, attempted to have cordial conversations with staff, and tipped 20% or more. The one time I had to cancel an hour before my appointment, which was due circumstances beyond my control, I was lectured by my manicurist about how much I had inconvenienced her at my next appointment.



Also, current licenses could not be verified through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.



I have since found another manicurist at another nearby establishment where the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and I am treated with respect.
