I went in and wanted color. I saw someone I had not seen before. I felt they spent a lot of time talking to me and asking a lot of questions to make sure they knew what I wanted and expected. It turns out what I needed to get the look I wanted was color and high lights. It looked really great!! I was amazed! Everyone seemed really nice and helpful. I was asked if I wanted a drink or cake or coffee. I thought the shampoo was so relaxing and great! It was just a nice day for me.

Not my first choice. After being a customer for several years I finally grew tired of paying huge prices for a haircut and being treated like I was in the way. They are poorly located in the basement of a two-story strip mall, but the outside entry takes you through a reasonably well kept green area. Once inside, the decor is bland, no one smiles to greet you, and your appointment may or may not be timely. Your schedule is not important to them, so if you have a job, find someplace else to go. If you are lucky enough to find one of the few skilled stylists who work there, your hair will be done well and you will be allowed to pay, but they have unimaginable rules regarding HOW you are allowed to pay and tip. It seems like an angry bookkeeper runs the place. For the most part, almost any place you go will do as good a job, charge you less, and make you feel much more welcomed and wanted.

Over priced, snooty with service and results easily beaten by your nearest Hair Cuttery. In fairness, they still have a few talented stylists and a modestly comfortable environment, but they've been in Columbia a long time and have come to rest on the past accomplishments of the original owners. They have new management now, and don't expect them to do anything for you besides treat your hair and charge utterly top prices for everything.(Well, the coffee and water are free.) Dont complain either or ask too many questions. If your color is screwed or style is trashed, get over it. You have to be happy to pay for their arrogance, or just go someplace else. If you complain, they'll tell you the same thing.

I too went here and had awful service from the haridresser. My color was definitely off and not what I usually got. When I called the hairdresser she was also defensive. I wonder if it is the same person???? They definitely charg premium prices. However, I don't see premium quality or service.

Will never go back...

I went in for service about 2 weeks ago and am extremely disappointed, especially for the prices they charge. I paid close to $200 for a cut and highlights, and came out with an AWFUL hair color. When I called to speak with the stylist to let her know that I was unhappy with the color, she was defensive and made me feel like I was "wrong" for not liking the color. I have been getting my hair highlighted/lowlighted for 15 years, and have never had an experience like this. I did not feel like she listened to what my needs were at all and when I tried to get it fixed I felt she was nonreceptive. I ended up paying another 80 dollars to go to another salon and get it fixed. I will never go back to this salon again.
