I rented from Autumn Winds for 10 months and had no problems other than maintenence,pest and parking issues. I know those would seem major,but I work a lot of hours and was not there often. They changed property managers at about the same time I needed to move into a two bedroom (I rented a one bedroom) due to the fact that my son lost his job. When I went to talk to the property manager she was very rude and told me they would not have a place for two months and that I could not have my son live with me. Things escalated from that point to where I finally left Autumn Winds for a different complex even though I had already paid rent for the rest of the year. When I contacted Kenny Corparation in North Carolina (the owners of the complex) and reported the multiple legal violations of their employee and the way she was treating their customers I had problems getting someone to return my call. After almost two weeks the Human Resources dept. sent me an email that said "we will definitly take care of this matter. Due to confidentiality I cannot discuss our actions with you". I am amazed that the final line was not "thank you for your money now go away. HA HA HA." Now I have an apartment that I have paid for for the next three months that Autumn Winds is refusing to take a intent to vacate letter for that I am required to keep utilities on and pay for as well. To top it off this supposed gated secure community actually replied to one of my complaints that the staff saw people they did not know coming in and out of my apartment but choose not to question them. Do your homework on apartments before you move, if not you will end up regretting your decision.
