Holcomb Cabinetry is a Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited kitchen supply company that specifically focuses on the design and supplying of cabinetry, countertops and related kitchen & bathroom products. Located at 2505 Philadelphia Pike (the old Claymont Ace Hardware store), Holcomb is looking to use their 30+ years of experience in the kitchen & bathroom remodeling, real estate and cabinet industries to have a major impact on the local community and surrounding areas. The new emphasis is to expand their cabinet and product lines to reach all quality and price points from the smallest home project to the most expansive renovation overhaul venture one can imagine. And there is no doubt that Holcomb has been involved in both. By sticking to what they do best, Holcomb has created a natural situation of partnering with the local contractors, builders and do it yourselfers for the installation and execution of their products and plans. Don Holcomb is the sole owner of Holcomb Cabinetry. Although he was born and raised in Delaware, he started the company, in 1976, as a siding and roofing company in Colorado. When he moved back to Delaware to start his family in 1982, he initially worked for Cherry Kitchens. A year later he incorporated his own business and began building approx. 100 homes per year for the larger builders in Delaware, performing all the rough framing, decks, interior trim and cabinetry for their projects. In that same timeframe, he completely built 5-6 custom homes. He employed between 30-35 people until 1990 when he decided to specifically focus on kitchens. In 1990, Don opened up Holcomb Kitchens a full service installation company averaging 35-40 custom kitchens per year. The company installed all cabinetry, countertops, floorings, drywall, trims, tile, hardwood flooring and handled any wall removal and/or structural changes including the installation of structural steel beams when necessary. In 2012, Don changed his business model again as well as the name of the company to Holcomb Cabinetry. The new emphasis would be focusing on designing and providing cabinetry and related products kitchen and bath products to homeowners, contractors and builders. Daryl has been on the job sites since he was 6 years old. Following his father around, he quickly became comfortable in the construction site environment. It wasn't until high school that Daryl officially started working for the company. During that time he was put in charge of simple tasks such as maintaining a clean showroom, running supplies to the job sites and often serving as a conduit between the on-site foreman and his father, the owner. He also worked as a general laborer assisting the more skilled laborers and craftsman when the situation arose. In 2001, Daryl went to college earning a Division 1 athletic scholarship for his achievements in baseball. While at the University of Rhode Island, he obtained a bachelors degree in Accounting.

Holcomb was contracted to install our new kitchen and floors in our family room, hall and powder room. Don the owner was very easy to work with and did an excellent job designing the kitchen. However, when we had callback issues after the installation, we we're completely ignored. For two plumbing issues (an improperly installed toilet and leaking faucet) we were referred to the plumber they subcontracted and were told by him to seal the faucet ourselves and that he did the toilet as a favor and wasn't going to fix it unless we paid him. A subsequent callback about discolored tile and discolored cracking caulk were ignored by Holcomb. We were asked by Holcomb if we used the maintenance kit and instructions that we were given for the tile installation -WE WERE NEVER GIVEN ONE.

The installers Joe Ward and Bob Power are the best craftsmen I have ever worked with and I would recommend using them and their company Joseph Ward Remodeling.

After deciding to upgrade our kitchen and visiting several kitchen designing businesses, we decided on Holcomb Cabinetry. Don Holcomb and his staff were very helpful in assisting with the design and with living within our budget. Everything was delivered on schedule and in excellent condition. The installer, Joe Ward, completed the work on schedule, cleaned up everyday respecting our home and the installation was completed perfectly. The end result of the whole process more than exceeded my expectations and we are very happy with our new kitchen. I might add that we have not had one complaint or call back. I also feel certain that if there was a problem, Don Holcomb would take care of it which is very important.
