Established in 1951, Rabun County Hospital is a nonprofit 25-bed critical access facility and is located in Clayton, Ga. It provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency care services. The hospital is an active member of the American Hospital Association and the Georgia Hospital Association. It is licensed by the state of Georgia and is approved by Medicare and Medicaid. The hospital s emergency department is staffed by certified physicians, specially trained nurses and laboratory clinicians. Its radiology department consists of computed tomography, scanners, magnetic resonance imaging, interventional suite, stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound and mammography. The hospital s laboratory offers services, such as hematology, urinalysis, blood bank and transfusions, therapeutic drug monitoring and microbiology. The hospital also operates a swing bed program that offers intermediate levels of care. It also provides social services and discharge planning to help make referrals.
