LifeBanc, established in 1986, is a federal designated, nonprofit procurement organization offering services to hospitals and medical centers throughout Northeast Ohio. The organization s areas of operation include handling of organ and tissue donation process, public and professional education programs, and bereavement services for donor families. It is a member of the United Network for Organ Sharing, the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations and the American Association of Tissue Banks. LifeBanc is located in Cleveland, and offers its services throughout Ohio, including Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Cuyahoga, Erie, Harrison, Holmes, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne counties.
