Provided by YP.comMy mother passed away in October 2013, and we allowed PJFH to conduct her final arrangements. There are other funeral homes in the neighborhood so we knew we had choices and decided upon PJFH. I am glad we did, and still believe we made the right choice. We were treated with compassion, professionalism and courtesy. The prices were well within our budget and my mother was laid to rest in the casket we had talked about way prior to her passing. On the first viewing, we did not like the color of the fingernail polish she had on and they changed it no problem. There were a few minor concerns but nothing that wasn't handled with a little communication and understanding on both parts. Transportation was prompt and the driver & assistants were courteous and respectful. Office staff very helpful with paperwork.

Provided by YP.comWe took my mother to Pernel after her passing and I pray that we will never need their services again. Our experience was horrible. They did not consult the family on decisions they made concerning my mother’s dress, hair, vault, and also lost her diamond chip earrings. My cousin is an excellent mortician from Chattanooga, TN (Taylor Funeral Home) , during the services he made a comment to our cousin that had he arrived earlier he would have requested to take my mother back to the morgue and conduct a makeover on her!! When my uncle arrived from Seattle, WA he wanted to visit his sister on the way to the house, when we arrived at Pernel we find some lady sitting in the chapel where my mother was drinking a can of beer!! Pernel choose a blue vault and mom’s casket was bronze, color choices, and all choices, is a decision that the family should have made. Upon leaving the cemetery several out-of-town quests ask a couple of drivers if they could follow them back to the church and they decline to help, I had to step in and threaten to sue for such rude and insensitive service that we paid $400 per car and we had two cars; my mom’s funeral was above average in terms of money we paid. I can go on and on but I’d rather not depress myself. The name should say “PERNEL JONES AND SONS GHETTO HOME”

Provided by YPmobileHorrible Service! Very unprofessional . I was told that they didn't have a makeup artist and I had to do my family member's makeup myself! The limo was very late picking up my family to take us to the church. I was on the phone with a rude worker trying to find out where the limo was . We arrived late to the funeral. Then, I had a very hard time getting the death certificate . I got the runaround for weeks before I said I would go downtown and get it myself. Then, finally they went and picked it up. When I think back over their services I get very upset . I should have taken a hint with the dirty office that we had the initial meeting in as a sign that their services weren't up to a good standard. I'm sorry I trusted them to handle my loved ones funeral .

Home going service, and the Programs they were about to give out was all wrong! They made a very bad mistake and put my Mother's pic on the frount, like she was the one who passed away , instead of my auntie. And I almost had a heart attack ! The next day I was in the E.R.
For chest pains, because I just could not get that pic, from out of my head ! This all happened in 2013 ......But other than that mistake they do Awesome work! Plus my dad Jerry Bell was there, and he was put away very nice......and a God brother of mines was there, and he was young name Glen, and he looked just like he was sleep....The staff could have been just a little more friendlier to the guest, but other than that, I must be Honest I would do BUSSINESS with them because, they make your love ones look just like they are sleep.

Provided by YP.comTheir personnel is rude to people making inquiries and only interested in the money end of things for the grief stricken families. I will never recommend them. This is the second experience with them, and both experiences were the same -- bad.

Provided by YP.comMY MOTHER WAS THERE BEATRICE SANDS 2002 EVERY THING WAS GOOD THEY WERE KIND SHE LOOKED JUST LIKE HER SELF I PICK OUT A DRESS FROM THERE IN PINK HER FAVOR COLOR I HAVE ALL SO BEEN FOR MY AUNT ROSELIE MALONE AND A FEW OTHER PEPOLE MY BROTHER IN LAW LARRY WHITE 2005 EVERY THING WAS GOOD A AND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WERE PLEASE.
