R.L. Wurz Company was founded by Ray L. Wurz in 1933 as a sales representative company for the sale of architectural porcelain on steel panels and glass fabrication. This concept of panel was originated by Mr. Wurz and became the standard for exterior panel design during the 1930s and 1940s. Also during this time, the company added the engineering and installation phases of the business. During World War II, the company ceased operations due to the unavailability of steel. In 1946 the company was restarted and continued to function solely in architectural panel sales and installation until 1964, when, due to the company's large use of caulking and sealants, it was contacted by the General Electric Silicone Products Department about distributing silicone sealants. In October of 1963, we became a distributor for General Electric, and during subsequent years we evolved into a complete line distributor for most major sealant manufacturers. We offer coatings, cleaning materials, concrete-repair materials, fire-stopping products and the accessories that are used in conjunction with these products.
