Received wonderful service. The young lady behind the counter went and got my husband something to drink while we were waiting, our nurse was very attentive and caring, I was very impressed with the personal attention we received.

Got in to see a Doctor very fast, was treated very well from the moment I walked in the door!

I was bite by a brown Recluse Spider on a Thursday, my regular Dr was out of the office on Friday so her nurse informed me that if the bite area got worse before Monday to seek immediate medical attention at the ER. Saturday the pain had become very intense, the swelling increase and I had been unable to sleep. I went to the ER and the Dr asked what I had been taking for it, I told him Motrin because narcotics keep me awake and I haven't been sleeping so discontinued use. After the Dr in the ER decided that there wasn't anything for him to help me with, no draining option, he would prescribe me a antibiotic. I asked the ER Dr if he could give me something to help me rest and then he started drilling me about the pain meds I already had prescribed. I told him what the 2 pain meds were prescribed for and told him again, I can't take them for the spider bite because they keep me awake and haven't slept well in 3 days. I opened my prescription pain medication bottles and poured them into my hand and said "does this look like I am seeking pain medication? I don't need pain medication. I need something to help me rest" crying and upset I left, I decided to return to the admitting area to ask the receptionist for the Doctors name that was trading me and about that time the doctor came out and proceeded to threaten me by saying "I can have you arrested and thrown in jail for seeking narcotic pain medications because you already have a doctor who prescribes them for you" bawling I replied "I never asked for anything other then something to help me rest." This is the worse experience I have ever encountered at a medical facility! I would NOT recommend anyone to visit Cleveland Area Hospital. Very sad. Very humiliating.

There's a good reason there's a funeral home across the parking lot.
