Never buy a Maytag dishwasher. That old commercial about the Maytag repairman being the loneliest man in town IS NOT TRUE. Here is the story of my Maytag MDB-4.



By the way, same model ending with different letters at the end of the serial number were recalled due to fire hazard.



It was purchased from Home Depot March of 2003 delivered and installed by them. It did not work. Home Depot would not take it back and Maytag would not replace it. So they fixed it and what we ended up with, and the best they would offer us, was an extended warranty. Labor Warranty expired 3/19/2009 Parts warranty expired 3/19/2010. Today is 1/14/13. The dishwasher has again broke down, for the same problem, for the 7th time since it's delivery on 3/19/2003. It broke down just before the warranties expired in 2010 which made the 5th time on Maytag's dime, but then it broke down again in March 2011, taking $263.98 out of our pocket and took 4 visits from A & E Factory Service to fix. AND NOW, less than 2 years later it has broke down again. Are the Whirlpool/Maytag/JennAire/KitchenAid and the other companies under their umbrella under the impression that people can afford to put out almost $300.00 ever few years to service the crap they are importing cheap so the greedy bastards running the company and stockholders can put more money into their pockets. We should boycott all the crap being sold under the Whirlpool family of appliances.
