I really like my apartment but like other people have mentioned it was dirty. I asked to get the carpets cleaned and it was like pulling teeth. I expected this place to be clean before I moved in but that was not the case. There are live cockroaches and wings all over the place.
Also I feel like I (too) got ripped off. I am paying 300.00 more per month than my neighbor and signed a 1 yr. lease, they have a month to month. The apartment is exactly the same.
Who does that? Like the renters would not talk to each other and find out. THIS IS SHAMEFUL! POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!

AFTER MORE THAN 30 YEARS IN BUSINESS I HAVE COME TO THE REALIZATION OF THE OLD ADAGE "YOU CAN MAKE MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAPPY MOST OF THE TIME BUT YOU CAN'T MAKE ALL THE PEOPLE HAPPY ALL OF THE TIME". Jeremy calhun is nothing but a liar. Will give you promises and commitments that he has no intention of keeping or the authority to do so. over 50% of their 400 properties have bed bugs not just roaches and not just rats that typically come with Apartments. But I am talking bed bug infestations their only recourse is to spread some dust they get from Ace Hardware and call it decontaminated. Stay away from Alvin calhun and Park Place properties they will cause you and your family much heartache and loss.

My husband went into the building and was trying to see what they had available. They informed my husband if he didn't have cash on him there was no reason to be there so we left.

If I could give less than one star I definitely would.
Me and my husband have only been married a short time and are looking to rent a nice house/townhouse. Jeremy made an appointment with us and even called the morning of to confirm. When we showed up for the appointment I was greeted by a young man and an elderly lady sitting behind the desk. They had no idea of my appointment and Jeremy was "out of office". We should have left, but unfortunately we didn't because I really liked a specific property (The Grove). So Jeremy shows up and has us follow him to The Grove apartments. Upon walking in we see cockroaches both dead and alive EVERYWHERE. They also hadn't even cleaned the place at all...there were handprints on the glass, appliances, and walls. Upon asking we learned the tenant moved out in JUNE...so they have had 4 months to clean the property and haven't. How disgusting. We decided then that we did not want to live in any property they owned. As we were exiting the property Jeremy told us with our credit (our credit is very new..but thats the only issue. We dont have bad credit by any means)...Jeremy said that we would need to pay first months rent ($900), last months rent ($900), a double deposit ($900+$900= $1800), and an additional deposit of ($450). His reasoning for the amount was our age and credit and that we had to give them a reason to trust us. Now, would you want to pay $4,050? Absolutely not. Its disgusting how they take advantage of people.

They own a lot of the nicer properties in Cleveland. But that's the only good thing about them. These guys used to be car salesmen and they fit that stereotype to a comic degree. All they care about is money, they would rather pull out their teeth than come do maintenance. Get everything in writing with these guys. And read your contract. Or better yet if you can go somewhere else.

Yeah I totally agree. I had my bad experience with these guys. We were robbed by our neighbors and we were the ones ended up getting evicted and the thieves are still there. The other guy was right, all these people care about is money. Stay away.

My advice for anyone considering these apartments is to move on. The two men running these places are snakes that I wouldn't deliver a pizza to. All they care about is money. They don't care who they rent to, and only care about getting every dime out of you they can. My advice would be to seek out an apartment that is not in Cleveland, but maybe Athens or Dayton TN, as they are cheaper and a lot safer. Avoid these people at all costs.
