The Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is a private nonprofit corporation governed by the volunteer Board of Directors. Formed in 1962, ASAC is one of the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive substance abuse prevention and treatment agencies in the state of Iowa. Although we serve clients from throughout Iowa, we primarily serve the five counties of Linn, Benton, Jones, Jackson, and Clinton.

ASAC's transitional housing program located in Clinton County.ND Housing is devoted to the choice of recovery. It is a place where families are nurtured, goals can be reached and the strength of self-sufficiency is gained through hard work, respect, and maintaining personal integrity. In the small city of Clinton, IA this ten unit, alcohol and drug free apartment complex includes six 2- bedroom units and four 3-bedroom units. Each apartment is furnished with all major appliances, including a stove, refrigerator, microwave, washer, dryer, and dishwasher.
