I built a new house and had 2 gutter companies give me an estimate for 6" continuous gutters and downspouts. Gutter companies measure each section of gutter and round that measurement to the next whole foot. If the gutter measures 14' 1", they charge you for 15'. They do the same thing when measuring downspouts. I built the house, and knew exactly how many feet of gutters and downspouts I needed. Both gutter companies that gave me estimates measured the house and came up with the same measurements I had. I called Hi-N-Dry Guttering and asked how much he charges per foot for 6" continuous gutters and downspouts. He quoted me .40 cents less per foot. I told him he could install the gutters and downspouts. He handed me the bill when he was finished, it was $120.00 higher than the lowest estimate that I received. He said the other gutter guys don't know how to properly measure a house for gutters and downspouts. I paid the guy and told him I'd never recommend him, or use him again! BEWARE!
