Provided by YP.comThis hotel's name and image seem pretty inviting but it is just not that great of a place to stay. I realize it is a family-owned business and all but the room and especially the bathroom are more akin to a motor lodge than a motel. The proximity to the beach is about as good as you will find in the area at a value hotel at around three blocks away and it is in front of the Beach Adult Emporium which could be convenient depending on who you are and is behind a rather good yogurt place, I Dream of Yogurt. The grounds inside the hotel courtyard are pretty tropical and while the pool is small it is fairly private even though it is almost directly behind the lobby. The parking here is very cramped but that is understandable since property definitely comes at a premium near the ocean.
The biggest disappointment with the room itself was definitely the bathroom. It is incredibly small and is akin to one you would find in an old tiled house and has a rather creepy frosted window where passing guests can see your shadow as you do whatever it is you're doing inside. The balcony is also a let down since they're all connected by about a foot gap that seems unnecessary and makes it a bit awkward and uncomfortable to relax on. On a related note feeling secure is one of the most important things in any hotel room and there is no door security latch or chain on the door which is a very easy fix, although I'm not sure how they would work since the doors open outwards. We thought half of the lamps didn't work but they were just left unplugged from the previous guests and were not plugged back in when the room was cleaned. Even though we didn't really trust the hotel with our belongings they didn't make the bed or give us fresh towels even though we stayed two nights which is ok but definitely worth mentioning.
In addition to the aforementioned problems the mattress was extremely firm and uncomfortable and the room had a fairly bad chemical smoke must odor. The room's furniture is pretty nice but it just doesn't feel like a room that is worth much of anything other than because of its location. Overall if you're looking for a cheap hotel on the beach and can get a good rate here it is ok and is close to the Ron Jon Surf Shop and the cool Sandbar Sports Grill near the beach but if you're used to staying in even somewhat nice rooms you're likely to feel a bit uncomfortable here. Also, I would definitely get a room on the hotel's left side where you have to enter through a keypad gate in the courtyard in order to get to your room if security is important to you since that places an extra step between a potential intruder and your room. I felt like it was important to mention this since although virtually every hotel has a secondary level of door security that is just yet another unimportant priority for this motel.
