We are located in the heart of Shoshone National Forest ( America's very first ), and 25 miles from Yellowstone National Park ( another first for America ), in the rugged Rocky Mountains, on the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway ( #296 ) and 6 miles from the Beartooth Highway ( #212 ) in Wyoming, America's least populated state. We are 60 miles from the nearest supermarket, in Cody, Wyoming, and 20 miles from Cooke City, Montana ( and it is just a few miles more to Silvergate, Montana and Yellowstone ). Truly beautiful wilderness. We offer RV sites, tent sites, corrals for your horses, and new dry cabins. Why not use Painter Outpost as a base camp ( park your RV/trailer with us ), and take day trips into Yellowstone with a lot less hassle.
