The Public Works Department is governed by The City of Cody in Wyoming. The department offers solid waste collection and disposal services. It maintains a fleet of police cars and dump and bucket trucks. The department s engineering division provides review, design, operation and maintenance services for infrastructure. The Public Works Department also operates a street division that is responsible for cleaning storm drainage systems and removing snow and ice. The department s recycling center accepts newspapers, cardboards, magazines and aluminum cans. Its water and wastewater division oversees the operation and maintenance of treated water distribution systems. The Public Works Department inspects residential, commercial and industrial construction projects, as well as offers building permits.
