I brought my 1.8 Turbo Volkswagen Passat in and the first think I liked about Jake was that he didn't turn me a way since I drive an import, let alone a Volkswagen (they can be a challenge to work on sometimes.) He told me he enjoys working on Volkswagens because it is different than your every day vehicle. He was very kind and took me and my boyfriend into the shop to see exactly what the problem was. We ordered the parts and when I brought it back out there to get the part installed it only took about 15 minutes. They also didn't charge me an unfair price and I was not scammed by them at all. I will definitely be bringing my Volkswagen back here if I have any other problems. I highly recommend their services to anyone! :)

I have had work done here when wade was the owner and he was phenomenal. I live in longview wa and was visiting family in colfax wa. I had called jake and let him know I got a P1259 code and check engine light. He let me know exactly what was wrong, a (vtech solenoid valve). I asked him if he would take it off and clean it, to see if that would help. He said no problem. I waited all weekend brought my van in. Got a call couple ours later, and a quote of 385dollars before taxes to replace the solenoid as he said it was unable to be cleaned. I inquired if it were even looked at. He only reread the engine code told me what I had already told him and charged me 87dollars for diagnostics (hooking the van up to the code reader). There is no way he knew it could not be cleaned. On top of that he quoted me 300dollars in labor to replace the unit and said specs said 1.8hrs to change. I checked with two different mechanics they both quoted 40min to install. I inquired about this, was given the runaround, and still charged 87dollars for no work. You can only ride on daddy's reputation so long. I would recommend jims auto repair.

We lived in Colfax for 5 years. With two cars and lots of commuting we saw Wade (owner) pretty often. He is the most outstanding master mechanic we have ever known. He was entirely honest with us, often telling us when we did not need services and teaching my husband how to do a few things himself. He even made a device to fit into the turn signal to get the wiper fluid to work. This guy knows his stuff and now that we have moved he is honestly the thing we miss most about Colfax. I never once walked away wondering if I got scammed. Quite the opposite.
