The College Park Public Works Department provides a range of services that includes street cleaning and maintenance, snow and ice removal, and litter and graffiti control to local area residents. The department is also responsible for the collection of refuse, including household trash, domestic animal waste, tires, building materials and furniture. In addition, it maintains and installs traffic and street name signs, safety barricades and banners and parking meter posts on public streets. The College Park Public Works Department also offers recycling services for glass bottles and jars, plastics, metal cans, newspapers and corrugated cardboards. Additionally, the department is responsible for the maintenance of vehicles, heavy equipment and machinery. The College Park Public Works Department also undertakes planting projects for community entrances, recreational facilities and roadway medians. It is located in College Park, Md.
