Canton Public Library provides informational, recreational and educational material to the residents of Canton, Conn. The library collects, organizes, preserves, and administers its resources and holdings for the use of all residents. The library supports the ALA Freedom to Read Statement and the Library Bill of Rights. It promotes library materials and services throughout the community, including schools, town agencies and the business community. It cooperates in resource sharing, such as interlibrary loan in order to satisfy the individual needs of patrons, and also cooperates with other local groups and agencies to further the best interests of the community. The library also organizes various events, such as Connecticut Invents!, magic shows and summer reading programs. The library is open Monday through Friday throughout the year, and on Sundays from November to March.
