Provided by YP.comThe place was sublime. Like hitting rock bottom in a tenement of the 19th Century -- personally and sociohistorically. Spend one night there and you'd feel what it is to know you messed up your life, as sure as hearing the cell door slam for your first night in state prison. It was the antithesis of luxury, of cleanliness and holiness. A place of subjective destitution, existential despair and end games. Exquisitely so. Aesthetic perfection for a sense of dereliction, psychic disorganization and radical deterritorialization. The brutality and honesty of its filth, the frankness of its decrepitude, the sincerity of its decay, amounted to a situationist experiment in decadence, an immersion in the conceptual derangement of the senses, a glimpse of a season in hell.
I spent a whole week there in 2010 as me and my woman were apartment hunting in the Bay Area (we ended up leasing in Berkeley). It truly was a vision of humanistic apostasy and modern perdition. May God forever bless the unholiness of the Motorville Motel.
