Over a decade ago I stopped going to Big O and began to exclusively get my tires from Discount Tire. Big O is not upfront with their tire prices as they add on many other charges at the end that Discount covers for free. Not only that, Discount Tire doesn’t always try to upsell you into something you don’t need. I unfortunately needed to get my front end aligned and Discount Tire doesn’t offer this. So I thought I would give Big O one more try since it has been such a long time. What a mistake. I took my truck into the location off of Woodmen which was in between Lexington and Austin Bluffs. There were two guys at the counter and a handful of people working in the bays. The first guy immediately says, it will take several hours. I pointed out that there wasn’t a car in the alignment bay. He then asked the guy next to him and he said they could take me. He told me to come back in one hour. I came back to the store in an hour, walked in and found the entire staff at the counter. Nobody looked up to acknowledge me so I proceeded to take a seat in their waiting area. There were four torn up chairs and a dry coffee carafe that appeared to have been cleaned in a toilet. I sat there for forty additional minutes. I finally got up and went outside to see if they were working on my truck. The truck was being worked on so I went back in the lobby and wandered around. About twenty minutes later the same counter guy called me over and gave me a print out. He proceeded to tell me that it would cost over $1700 to repair my front end due to a bad suspension. I told him that all I wanted was for it to be aligned and I could not understand why it took them two hours to tell me that they could not do it. He offered NO apology and did not show any remorse. I told him I would take my truck and asked him to remove it from the lift. I went outside and watched the guy back my truck out. I immediately saw a fist size mark full of small scratches on my driver’s door. My truck was covered with a light dust, because I have a dirt driveway. The area around the scratches was wiped clean. I pointed to the scratches and told the guy that got out of my truck that they had scratched the heck out of my door. He just looked at me and said he didn’t do it and handed me my keys. I went back inside and told the guy at the counter. He told me to settle down and came out to look at the door. He asked the other guy if he scratched it and the other guys said no, of course. They walked back inside. I called the police and they told me that I could not do anything because it was a domestic case. I called the national customer service number and she had the gall to ask me if I knew anyone in the store, aluding that if I didn’t know anyone, what reason would they have to do this. The following day, I took my truck to Christian Brothers Automotive on Powers and Woodmen. They found NO problems with my front end other than alignment. They adjusted the caster, camber, and toe on the front and the camber and toe on the rear axles. They also adjusted my steering wheel so it was lined up. They did this for $69.95. Once again, Big O has proven to be manipulative, unprofessional, dirty, and down-right crooked. They employ low-life associates that gang up on customers to convince them they need to upgrade their tires or have work done on their car that doesn’t exist. They are unprofessional in their appearance, and in their actions. I will never again waste my time or my money with this unprofessional business again. There is a reason Discount Tire stores are always busy and Big O has four empty torn up waiting chairs in their building. You deserve it.
