Do NOT take your cat here! Our...

Do NOT take your cat here! Our cat got into a lily and ate some of it. Knowing that some plants are harmful to cats, we called our vet (well, they are now our former vet), Carefree Cats. We told them that he'd eaten the lily and thrown up and asked if there was any danger. We were told that since he'd thrown it up, he'd be just fine.

Thankfully we got a second and third opinion. Turns out that lilies are very toxic to cats and that the only chance they have of living through it is immediate treatment of IV fluids.

As I write this, I do not know if our cat will live or not. We won't know for a couple days. What I do know is that if we'd listened to Carefree Cats, he would for sure be dead. Oh, and when we told them all of this, the vet basically blew us off without as much as an apology.

HORRIBLE. Overdrugged my cat and almost killed him. Recommended a surgery that wasn't needed ($800). Put a catheter in my cat that was WAY too big causing extreme swelling. Bad mouthed my cat in front of my children calling him several names. I just took him somewhere else and was treated SO WELL. Said my cat was very well behaved, which he is. And, clarified all of the above AT NO CHARGE. Don't ever go here unless you want to get ripped off and your cat mistreated. Plus, the manager "publicly" apologized on my Google review but basically called me a liar and has done ABSOLUTELY nothing to fix the situation. Almost $500 to this vet in the last 2 months to get treated insignificant and have my cat injured (from the oversized catheter).

Carefree Cats is the best place to take your cat. I've taken several of our kitties here over the years and have been consistently met with courtesy, understanding, and care by the staff, vet techs, and doctors at Carefree Cats. They know how to diagnose and give the best course of treatment to cats. They have taken care of my cats during terminal illnesses which I will forever be grateful for. I love this place and thank God for their care of my cats!

I took my cat to Carefree Cats...

I took my cat to Carefree Cats when I noticed that he had started to loose weight and was not breathing normally. He had been feral as a kitten and was an especially timid but sweet cat. The poor thing was so stressed out on the way to the vet that he wet inside his carry case and I could tell he was terribly frightened when the vet looked him over. Dr Pollard suggested that he keep him overnight and run some tests in the morning. The next morning he called me to tell me that my cat had died but before he died he attacked one of the vet technicians. Then he said, "it was his own fault (the cat's) and that he brought it on himself". I was speechless. He was actually blaming the cat for it's death. Whatever happened to that cat was not something "he brought on himself". It was my fault for not thinking of asking for a sedative to calm the cat down and Dr Pollard's fault for not doing it anyway. It was obvious to both of us how frightened that poor animal was. I have never been back and have no intention of ever using that facility again.

Not impressed. Outdated equipment, Dr Pollard is outdated and clueless with no personality. I have been curious if they hire ex-con's, because one tech smells like alcohol and shakes really bad and I am not comfortable with her handling my cats, the other one I am positive is a meth addict. The other older ladies seem to have menopausal problems with their attitude. It is stressful as it is when your pet is sick, I don't need to bring my cats into a dysfunctional clinic, where you feel like you have reached rehab center for humans.

Wow what some mean things to say. We have state of the art equipment here at Carefree Cats and we are very kind and compassionate people. We do most all our blood work in the clinic so that our clients know what is going on with their cat as soon as possible. I am very sorry that you had a bad experience at Carefree Cats.
