Over the years, several branches of the Praying Mantis emerged, one being the WL Praying Mantis system, named after the Temple in China. A skillful martial artist studying there, Lee Kwan Shan later combined his family style "Tam Tui" (a style emphasizing strong leg movements) with the WL Praying Mantis to from a well-rounded and effective system known as the WL Tam Tui Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Kung Fu means "hard work." There are many different styles taken from the movements of animals, birds and insects. Training in Kung Fu consists of: * Kung Fu Basic Exercises * Hand Forms * Weapon Forms * Self-Defense Techniques * History * Philosophy * Meditation
