Provided by YP.comPediatric medicine is an art. Sometimes it’s hard to diagnose a kid’s problem. But when every visit has a “I don’t know what the problem is, let’s try something” type answer, I lose confidence in the doctor(s). To give an example. My child went in for abdominal pains. She been seen before for these pains, but now she is vomiting from her pains. I was FLOORED by the doctor’s answer… “Kids get stomach pains. It’s no big deal. Don’t have an answer for you why the child is vomiting. Give her a large dose of laxatives until the point their stool is runny, and let them blow the problem out…” And today I was shocked yet again by the doctor’s response. I need a refill. Called it in right after the clinic opened, and added a request to pick it up sometime later in the morning. I will be in the area, and it would be very helpful to pick up the refill prescription then. I show up hourS later, and the doctor’s response via the receptionist… prescription not ready. I (the doc) have up to 48hrs to write it. Call you when it’s done… I don’t know the mechanics behind the scene. All I see is a little piece of paper with the drug name, dose and a signature. It’s hard to imagine this process taking more than seconds to complete, but I could be wrong. I just hate the arrogance behind the doctor’s statements.
