Stewart Remodeling replaced the Wooden Deck on my home in Divide with a composite deck in June of 2014. The deck work itself was good, but my extreme disappointment comes from the Stewart crew not returning my home to its previous condition when the job was complete. I had several sheets of redwood lattice attached to the existing deck fascia that extended down into the ground to a depth of about 6". The lattice prevented animals from entering a crawl space beneath the deck. The Stewart crew re-attached the lattice to the new fascia, but did not trench it into the ground to anchor it. The top of the sheets are now uneven as they extend around the deck. There was also a hinged lattice door on the east side of the deck that allowed access to the crawl space. It was replaced flimsily and crooked. It looks awful.In replies to several emails, Tom Stewart promised that he would send a crew out "soon" to re-do the lattice. He never did. It is now November and the ground is frozen. I will have to wait until spring to replace the lattice myself, and hope that animals don't invade the crawl space during the winter.I am extremely disappointed in Stewart Remodeling and in Tom Stewart's failure to return my home to its original condition. I would be very hesitant to recommend this company to anyone, unless you don't mind re-doing all of your own work to return your home to its original condition after Stewart Remodeling leaves.
