Do NOT recommend. I'm sad to say that Amanda at Sugarplum Cake Shoppe did our cakes for our wedding on 5/30/15. I had the greatest first impression of Amanda when we booked with her, however it was a different story on the wedding day. First, we paid to rent a cake stand, and it NEVER made it to the reception. I can't even look at the wedding photos of the cake sitting on cardboard on a tablecloth. Secondly, for the groom's cake, we decided on a piano shaped cake- what we got was a plain white sheet cake with a piano in icing- not what we discussed at all. Following these mistakes, I contacted the shop. It took 3 separate phone calls to even get in touch with Amanda (I left messages, she never called back) and that was almost TWO weeks after the wedding. She was then very apologetic, and told me she would call me back in an hour to get the address to which she could send a refund for the cake stand. She never called back. It took TWO more calls from my husband for us to give her our address, and she told us the check would be in the mail that same day. This all took place late June. We have yet to receive a check, or a call back. We placed yet another call this past saturday, and were told Amanda would give us a call back as soon as she finished making a cake. We were told this was a delicate process that could not be interrupted- we left our phone number and asked for a call back. It is now thursday, FIVE days later and we have yet to receive a call back, or a refund check. It's beyond just wanting a refund for items we did not receive- it's about how this woman is blatantly avoiding our calls after she made a mistake. We held up our end of the deal by paying her, the exact day we booked, in full. We will not be recommending her, in hopes no one has the same experience we have.

I had a cake prepared for my daughter's graduation from nursing school. I managed the process completely online and trusted Amanda and staff to prepare a cake unseen before the party. What was prepared was a cake of great taste which was styled beautifully. My daughter loved it. I will look to Sugar Plum in the future for our special event needs!

Sugar Plum Bakery made us the best gluten free birthday cake, I had no idea a gluten free cake could taste so good. They are now the only bakery we'll ever get our cakes from. They had (7) different cakes to choose from with several different gluten free fillings. I ordered the Almond Poppy Seed with Vanilla Bavarian Creme fillings, it was incredible! I highly recommend you give them a try.
