Provided by YP.comI have had a few great experiences deal with the guys at Shriner Lake marina. They diagnosed and fixed my boat with a quick turn around. They are a family owned business they take the time to get know their customers, and treat them like family. I recommend everyone I know with any water craft needs to the guys at Shriner.

Provided by YP.comI have a 1987 Johnson GT 150 HP which needed a service as it had no power to go to full speed. It was running great at low speed, but just no full speed.
So I found out about Shriner Lake Marine as they were the only folks who works on Johnson engines in the area. So I brought my boat there to have it fixed. After the first repair visit, I took it out to the lake. They no doubt did a great job getting the boat back to full speed, but they affected the idle/low power speed as it was going much faster than it did before. In other words, it is more difficult to navigate the boat to the trailer if you're going much faster than normal (10-15 MPH vs. the norm of 5 MPH... Note: these figures are estimates but was used just to give you an idea). I contacted them to see what I can do and they thought it was bad gas. So I got rid of the bad gas... and put in fresh new gas... that did not fix the problem. So I brought the boat back there again.
After the 2nd time, I was a bit unhappy that they charged me additional for labor to "fix" the problem. I should not have been charged if they didn't test this in the first place... let alone that I recently had paid for a repair. They told me that the engine does not have an idle circuit and they have tried several different things to get the engine running as it should. I don't know what "tried several different things" mean... but that kind of tells me that they don't know what they are doing. And when they finally contacted me that they fixed it... I took the boat out on the lake again. Surely enough they did make a *small* improvement at idle/low speed (definitely not like it was before) but to my surprise/disappointment, I found gas on the surface of the lake. The reality was... they broke something and the engine was leaking gas!!! I was really upset about that because they tried to fix one thing and ended up breaking another. I have contacted them once again and there was no response. Email follow-ups... no response. They just don't care as they do not know how to work and fix it. So I'm out about $1500 for something that they fixed and broke.
I would NOT recommended them as they don't know exactly what they are doing with older outboards. They might be able to fix other engines and make others happy, but based on my experience with them, I will NEVER, ever recommend them.
Note: I ended up borrowing a boat engine repair book from a library and I found out that the engine did have an idle circuit. So I was able to get the engine running much better at idle/low speed, but I could not do anything about the gas/oil leak as it is out of my expertise. I am still looking for another marine shop to fix this.

Provided by YP.comThese guys seem to have it on the ball. There prices on new boats are outstanding. I got mine for $3000 off list price! It seems like they really cleaned the place up, too.
