Provided by YP.comThey were they cheapest.
They showed up on time.
They explained what was going on so that I could understand the problem and fixed it!
They fixed my heat this winter and if I have any trouble with my AC this summer I'm calling them again.

Provided by YP.comThis is the HVAC service used by my landlord, and as a result their work cost me nothing. They responded to an initial call on a Sunday about our furnace not working, which was an easy fix, and then made arrangements to come back at a later date to clean and service the unit more thoroughly. During their first visit back to our unit, they used a shop-vac to clean soot out of the furnace without a filter in it (covering every service of the apartment in soot, and we are still cleaning it off of things over a week later). An accident, I'm sure, but infuriating none the less. They returned a few days later to again attempt to fix the furnace. After working for a couple of hours, they left for lunch, and to pick up a part. They did not return for four days or make an any effort to contact us to make arrangements for another return. When they finally came back, the furnace was returned to a functioning condition until 12" balls of fire came shooting out of it later that same night. They returned AGAIN the next morning, and I came home to find a working furnace and that one of the men had been smoking inside of the apartment (He was kind enough to leave all of the ashes in the sink). To say that I am dissatisfied with their service is an understatement. I would, however, like to add to this review that Brian responded to two calls on Sundays very promptly. The initial call was when the furnace was not working and a second time when the pilot on our water heater kept going out after I attempted several times to light it. I feel that these occurrences are slightly redeeming. I do hope that our bad experience was just the result of a few unfortunate situations.
This is Brian, owner of A-1 Mechanical. I was there at Mallory's apartment. First: as I arrived Sunday morning, taking off my boots so I didn't track snow, they said, "Don't worry. We have a dog." And the brown stains on the living room carpet confirmed this. Took the boots off anyway. Now, later, after we left, apparently the apartment required sterility and cleanliness rivalling a surgical operating room!!!!!!! 2.) The shop vac incident is true. It ran for a couple seconds, we shut it off, opened the front and back doors, the dust blew out. As it happened, it was one of those really windy days in January, steady winds of 30, gusts to 45. It aired out fast. The landlord had the carpets cleaned and reduced their rent for the mmonth. 3.) When the dust blew out, she lost her compusure in a classic case of over-reaction. Stomping around, slamming doors, spouting hateful gibberish. At least she didn't hit us. She told us to leave. I explained we had not finished, they were bound to be cold, no matter to her. We left, per her request. And had no plan to return, ever. quote: "They did not return for four days or make an any effort to contact us to make arrangements for another return." I wonder what she thought would happen after she told us to leave? 4.) Later, she leaves a voice mail, introducing herself as "the evil B. in apartment 47" and asks us to come back. Claims she has O.C.D. real bad, and apologizes. Against our better judgement we went back. 5.) We cleaned furnace parts in the sink. The old furnace was filthy, we would NOT again use a vacuum, and apparently we left some ashes in one of the many, many parts- washings. Big deal, run the water and rinse it out. To say that when you deal with enough members of the public, eventually you will encounter a lunatic is an understatement. In the end though, we got that old worn out furnace performing like new. To say it was a struggle was another understatement.
