The Department of Anesthesiology provides a range of anesthesia services for various hospitals, clinics and medical centers, including Ellis Fischel Chronic Pain Center and Hyperbaric Medicine Center. It also provides several internship programs. Located in Columbia, Mo., the Department of Anesthesiology is a part of the University of Missouri-Columbia, which operates more than 15 schools and colleges. Established in 1839, the university has an enrollment of over 25,000 students. It offers several academic and research programs in agriculture, public administration, engineering, fine arts, human environmental sciences, law, medicine, natural resources, nursing, social work and veterinary medicine. The university also supports theater, music, dance and other cultural productions.
