They have peoples grave markers for sale. Immoral and coldhearted. I told the lady running the store that it was a felony to possess such items, she replied "i've heard that before. Are you a sheriff?" And no i am not. She turned her back and walked away muttering something. No business ethics. What else are they doing?

I'll start with a PRO: There's some cool-ish industrial-type stuff that my family likes and has purchased many times, dropping hundreds at this place since we moved to Columbia for college. The latest thing I bought there was a cool metal 'O' for my baby's room. We've also bought books, side tables, stools, military stuff . . . CON: I don't know if it's because we're young and they don't think young people are worth being nice to--what's wrong with our generation, all that--but the workers are so. stinking. rude, which is the reason I'm devoting five minutes to writing a review. More below. PRO: There is one worker there, a young gal, who's sweet; she's the only one who cares to smile or be kind when she checks you out. CON: The owners/operators probably artificially will after they read this, but they have never smiled or said hello when we walk in. Today, my husband needed to throw out a bag with baby wipes. There's no trash can out front, which is odd for a business, but whatever. The guy at the counter, upon being kindly/neutrally asked if there was a trashcan, oh-so begrudgingly took our little bag and slid it in a trashcan under his counter as if it a huge annoyance for him to move his hand a foot to deposit the trash into his can. OH NO, so difficult. No words, just clear-cut discontentment at dropping a little bag into his trash. . . My sister-in-law and husband are so kind and objective, never judgy or dramatic, but they were both offended by his overt display of unwarranted, unkind, business-stupid annoyance. HELLO, Steve (?) or David--his name was one of the two--you are in the business of CUSTOMER SERVICE: without customers, you tank, dude. All of you need to reassess what the customer means to you. Heck, even if nobody bought, why wouldn't you just be kind? Must I remind you of the Golden Rule? I can't take anybody being rude to my family, who are rarely offended, so I turned around and asked what his name is and is he an owner. He said David or Steve, and yes, he's one of the owners. I explained that his reaction was perceived as less than appropriate. He iterated that there's a sign clearly stating there's no trash can for customers. Goodness, how did we, baby in arms, not notice the sign? Tsk, tsk. I explained that we've been there many a time in our past six years in Columbia, but I found him so rude that I asked my sister-in-law and husband if we should leave. Honestly? We probably should have . . . We walked around only to have some lady follow us everywhere, and, when we got toward the front, hear their petty remarks about us literally behind our backs. Mature, right? Great business acumen (psssh). As much as I like some of the few industrial-type booths, I have no respect for the workers, besides the young gal, who is probably in her 20s. The others are, as I said, so. stinking. rude and petty. Again, guys: Your customers ARE your business--step back and reflect a little not only on your lack of business prowess, but your human nature! Take a lesson from the young gal! She's the only reason we might come back!

I want to start off by saying that Artichoke Annie's Antique Mall is a fantastic mall, but

you better know what you are doing when you buy something.

I bought 4-WWI era pieces of field gear

from the booth that sells all military items

and spent a lot of money to only find out later that

the items I bought are fake and can be bought

on line for half the price I paid. If you collect military

stuff you better know what you are doing.

Spoke to the owner and she said buyer be ware. If I owned a business and found out someone was doing that they would be banned from selling. She didn't even care and said it has happened before. This guy is selling items that he knows is fake as real. WOW!!!

Love this store

My daughter and I love this store. We try to go there whenever she is in the area as she lives out of state. I live about an hour and a half away but it is worth the trip. As for leaving your purse I would much rather fill my arms with things I find than my purse. They have lockers to put your purse in or you can lock it in your trunk whats the big deal.

I would not recommend anyone s...

I would not recommend anyone shop at this antique mall if you expect to be able to carry your own purse around with you!! I went in there today and I was expected to put my purse in one of their lockers before I went past the front of the store. I don't know about you other women but I am not going anywhere without my purse!!! And hey my money was in there so I guess they didn't want that either. I took my business elsewhere. The antique store next door is really cute!!!
