I have been a client at this hospital for many years. I have seen vets come and go. My pet has gotten nothing but excellent care from all the doctors there. I would Highly recommend them to Friends and Family. A+ Vet Care

Overdosed my Bearded Dragon!

To start off, this place is getting 1 star only because I have to give them at least that to write this review. If i could they would get negative stars. Why? Because the KILLED my bearded dragon. I went to "Dr." Robert Bartlett who I was told was able to treat reptiles for a second opinion on my bearded dragons breathing problem. My dragon was active and happy but had to breathe through his mouth as his nose was a little clogged. Very common problem with these guys. Any ways, the "vet" gave him 100mg of Baytril, (an anti biotic) and then said he was going to give him 1% Ivermectin for parasites. First of all, he never tested for parasites and the way he explained this drug to us was that it would prevent them so we agreed. IMMEDIATELY after this was administered, my dragons health plummeted. By the end of the day he was in and out of consciousness and unable to move by himself. I researched what Bartlett had given him and to my dismay found out that Ivermectin is to be used on DOGS not a 3 month old reptile. I then learned he also gave my dragon 3 times the amount of anti biotics that a dragon his size would need. Needless to say after checking my dragon into a different animal vet, he passed away. I went back in to tell the "dr" what had happened and everything that I had learned and all he had to say was "We can't guarantee our work" when I asked for my money back he said he was unable to do that as well. So now I'm down 115$ and my sweet baby boy. Please everyone, please take your loved ones elsewhere. This man should not be handling animals.

Be Warned

The review by catmisonly saying how wonderful they are was done by Dr. Bartletts girlfriend. He is the worst vet I ever met. Be warned DO NOT GO THERE. I wouldn't take my pets back to him if he was the only vet alive.

Miss

I had my dog in to see Bartlett and I think he made my dog suffer and die. He had cancer and didn't eat for a week and we told him 4 times that he wasn't eating and he just kept giving us different pills he gave him steroids which tore his belly up and then 3 days later told us he probably wasn't eating cuz of the steroids making his belly feel like it was on fire so then gave antacid why didn't he give them with the steroids to begin with???? So 2 days after the last appt my dog died and he had the balls to tell my dad " we offer cremation" f**k off and get a new job, you don't care about animals u just care about money which is sad and now my dog is gone. P.s he had his kid in there running around like it was a Playground. PLEASE don't take your pets to him. Has no clue what he's doing!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL

It is a shame that people have one bad experience and they can trash a business over it. Every pet as with people are different. A large animal is just as likely to have a reaction as a small animal to vaccinations. You don't know which pets will have a reaction until it happens...then u are prepared the next time. I have had nothing but good experiences with this vet hospital. On one occassion I was in there with my pet and there was a dachsund behind the counter who had obviously had back surgery. I came to find out that his owners decided they could not care for him since he could not walk. Dr Bartlett took the dog and performed not one but two back surgeries on him. After several months, Buddy began to improve and started to walk again. When he became strong enough, Dr Bartlett called the original owners and asked them if they would like him back. They were more than happy and grateful to have their pet back. This is a testament to the wonderful Dr and staff at Columbia Animal Hos

Very Disappointing experience with Dr. Barlett and Columbia Animal Hospital

I had a terrible experience with Dr Bartlett. I had my dog immunized at this location and my dog ended up getting very sick and had to go to the Pet Emergency in Lancaster. This costed around $400.00, the doctor at emergency pets in Lancaster determined there were too many shot give to my small dog. She became very sick with vomitting, diarrhea and dehydration. Then I took my dog that next day to Dr Bartlett and he ended up charging me another $200.00 for treatment. He never apologized about what happened to my dog. He is the owner of Columbia Animal Hospital and he made that very clear. This was to get ready for a surgery to have my dog fixed. My cat was also getting fixed as well at this location. Dr Bartlett had no compassion or empathy for animals in my experience. Most of his staff have taken on his same kind of poor attitude and were not very friendly. It was scary to be vulnerable and take your animal to people that you are supposed to trust and that they are there to care
