The hair stylist are extremely rude. They laugh and joke about the clients in French. Franche spoke bad about me to the other stylist as if I wasn't there. And there's a gorilla looking stylist with dreads, last time I was there her station was by the front window, who will blatantly talk about you as if she looks good. This place is extremely dirty, dirty aprons, dirty chairs, dirty towels, dirty equipment, it's just disgusting. I WILL NEVER RETURN!

I made an appointment for Sene...

I made an appointment for Senegalese twists at 7am on a Saturday. When I got there, they made me pay before even starting my braids. That seems to be a typical business practice for African hair salons. I expected to be finished before 3pm. I did not leave that shop until around 10pm that evening. I have been getting my hair braided off and on since I was a child, and I have NEVER cried while getting it done. Braids by Franche gave me the worst braiding experience I have ever had in my life. Although the woman who did my hair (Rina) was nice (well, as nice as you can get an African braider to be) and made general conversation with me, she just took entirely too long. The woman were constantly speaking and yelling in French over my already sore and pounding head, and a woman named Joyce was picking in my hair and asking Rina questions pertaining to me as if I wasn't in the chair. Don't ask ABOUT me, ASK ME DIRECTLY, especially when I'm about to snap. There was also a large, brutish pregnant woman who was very nasty to my mother and her own customers. That 15 hours that I was there was worse than childbirth. I will tell my story of my hellish experience at Braids by Franche to every woman I know interested in braids, and I will never ever patron their disgusting, roach and spider infested shop again.

Never in my wildest dreams did...

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever get micros in my hair. I am a hair stylist/ owner and rarely find the time to do anything with my own hair. I made the crazy decision to go natural and boy is my hair taking me through changes. This I felt was my only option. Guys, I tell you, I was so nervous at first because this is a huge stretch for me. But..... I think it was the best decision so far for my hair. I look and feel so beautiful! Those ladies worked a miracle! Thank you!!!!!!

You have got to go get your hair done by these beautiful ladies. Not only are they extremely talented but they care about the work that they do. I got senegalese twists today and their work exceeded my expectations!!!! The care that the ladies took really made me feel important and special. I went in looking crazy and left looking absolutely beautiful! Job well done and I will be getting this special treatment again! And... again!

I Love my braids!

I have had my hair braided at Braids by Franche twice. I am always extremely satisfied with their work. The first time I had my hair braided I got the $180 pixie size. They lasted me for about two months before I took them out. Most people still thought I took them out too soon. I have very dry scalp and I was able to wash my braids in the shower and not have to worry about them all coming out. When I took them out I had minimal brakage--no more then my hair would naturally shed had I been wearing my wraps. The second time I got braids, I got the $200 dollar size (tiny). I have had these in for two months. I have about an inch of new growth. I was actually looking the number up to get my edges rebraided and decided to leave a comment. The quality braiding the do at Braids by Franche always pleases me. The prices incude the hair and they are fairly consistant with the braiding times.

I have two friends that go there for kinky twist and other braids now. The only complaint I would have is that the entire staff takes lunch together at the same time (It may be a cultural thing) but I can overlook that for these quality braids. They have definently got a customer for life!
