My name is Don Russo. I started Freeway Music 3 years ago. We are a lesson studio located in Columbia, SC that provides private instruction on various instruments. I started this business because I am passionate about music, instruction, and my local community.

Why Freeway?

There are two ideas behind the name Freeway:I spent time considering what has made me both successful and popular as a teacher. The first thing I thought of was the fact that I let the student dictate the direction they desire to go. Whether a student is interested song writing, improvising, reading music, or just learning tunes, I give them the necessary tools. Whether they prefer Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical, or another style, it does not matter. Our students are free to choose their way.A freeway also represents a fast track to where you want to go, and that is exactly what we are. Self-taught players often struggle to get where they want to go and plateau or never reach their destination. At Freeway Music our instructors are qualified, personable, and experienced teachers that guide the students. This gives them the quickest and easiest path to their goals.

What we offerWe offer lessons on guitar, piano, voice, bass, mandolin, saxophone, clarinet, flute, violin, viola, and cello. We have five recitals per year that include two solo recitals, two full band/ensemble recitals, and an original music project for select students. We occasionally have workshops for our students, and we are working hard on planning summer camps for next year. Our facilities are also professional, spacious, and dedicated fully to private instruction.
