Established in 1937, Whitthorne Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school has a library, cafeteria, band room, computer and tutorial laboratories, gymnasiums and more than 60 classrooms. In addition, Whitthorne Middle School supports a variety of extracurricular programs in art, band, technology engineering education, teen living and wellness. It also supports several sports activities, including football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. The school provides the English Language Learners program. Located in Columbia, Tenn., Whitthorne Middle School also provides medical care and guidance counseling services to students.
