All of these people suck bad!!!!!!! they all lie to you and say that you all beat your parents and call defacs on you!!!!!!!

We hired Gentiva in March as my husband was dying from pancreatic cancer. The 2 reasons I wanted hospice was to help his last days at home be as good for him as possible. The other is that I known and experienced the "aftercare" given to family and caregivers after the loved one has gone. We had a rocky beginning. I think they are in transition with a lot of staff turn over making it more stressful on the caregiver/family member. We did settle into a short but good routine with a wonderful person caregiver and RN.

The Chaplain officiated at our rather laid back, informal memorial wake. He was wonderfu!

I am disappointed that the help I had counted on to help me work through the loss and grief has been nonexistent. I've been promised return calls and gotten none. There are apparently no bereavement or grief groups currently available in the Athens-Clarke area or surrounding counties. As with many service organizations in many fields, there are some staff who shine and others who need some polish. Overall i would rate Gentiva a 60% success rate. We never were able to take advantage of the inpatient services so that i can't address. I am still waiting on a phone call to give me guidance working through my grief. He died April 7.
