Dr. Mac was my doctor when I was a baby. Both of my kids have seen him since they were born. In the last couple years it has become impossible to get an appointment if your child is sick. You literally have to be calling back to back at exactly 8 am and hope they have a slot available. Both my kids were sick about a month ago and I was told they couldn't see them both but I had to chose one. As a mother its hard to "chose" a child to be seen. The wait is absolutely the most ridiculous thing I've ever experienced with a doctor's office. It's 30-45 minutes past the appointment time and then another hour or more once you get a room. At one point I missed an appointment and knew I owed a $25 missed appointment fee and when my child became sick they refused to make him an appointment unless the fee was paid. I tried to tell her I'd pay it when I came in for the appointment and she said it had to paid BEFORE they would make the appointment. I had to pay the stupid fee over the phone before she would schedule my child. Most recently my 6 year old was taken to a sick appointment. We waited 30 minutes in the waiting room and then over an hour once we got back. Dr. Mac blowed it off when I expressed how difficult it is to get a child to be still when they sit in a room for over an hour with nothing to do. They claimed he had bronchitis. 2 days later my son was literally coughing with every single breath. I called Dr macs office and talked to the nurse. She said she'd talk to him and call me back. It got so bad that I was afraid my sin couldn't breathe properly and I took him to urgent care. Come to find out he had pneumonia and has been on a nebulizer ever since. I am STILL WAITING ON THE CALL BACK FROM DR MCLEODS OFFICE. it has been a week ago today. Good thing I didn't wait on them to start caring. Because of this build up or ridiculousness, I started yesterday taking my kids to Phenix city children's and they are wonderful. They do asthma, allergy, ADHD, xray, and child psychology all in the same office with their regular practice. They GUARANTEE an appointment when your child is sick, had to rest that guarantee when my other child was sick yesterday. They had us in and out in less than 30 minutes. Dr is fabulous. And they did something that dr macs office has NEVER done. They called this morning to check on my little one to see how she was after her sick appointment yesterday.

Dr. Mac is THE BEST pediatric doctor in this world. He was my 25 year olds doc and still sees my 16 year old. He figured out what was wrong with my friends’ baby after they had seen several other docs. He is truly amazing! I just love Dr. Mac. Thanks for taking care of my kids for the past 25 years.

He is wonderful about keeping you informed when you have a child in the hospital having surgery and when they are there to be sewn up! (Boys, go figure!) I'd recommend him to anyone yet I think that his practice has been full for years! He also has Dr. Donna Yeiser in with him, she is awful nice and knowledgeable as well.
