WRBL is the CBS local television affiliate that provides news, programming, entertainment and information to residents of the greater Columbus, Ga., area. The station, which broadcasts on channel 3, signed on the air in 1953, as the first full-powered television station in Columbus. 960. In 1960, the station made the Guinness Book of World Records by installing its Channel 3 antennae atop the world s tallest man-made structure, a 1,749-foot tower in Cusseta, Ga. It is owned and operated by Media General, a diversified communications company that operates newspapers, television stations and online enterprises, primarily in the Southeastern United States.
