Consulting an attorney can be a costly and intimidating process. Choosing the right attorney is an extremely important decision. Before you take that first step to set up an initial appointment, here are a few things that might help you make the right choice: Determine the area of law at issue and create a list of attorneys who practice in that area. Once you have gone through the steps above, you should be able to narrow down your list. The last and most important step in choosing an attorney, is setting up an initial appointment to go over your issues with them. There is no substitute for sitting down face to face and discussing you case with the attorney. Before meeting with the attorney, note things such as; your experience setting the appointment; how comfortable you felt dealing with the support staff, and whether the office felt inviting and friendly.
