BioOhio founded in 1987 as Edison BioTechnology Center and formerly Omeris, is a non-profit organization designed to build and accelerate bioscience industry, research, and education in Ohio.As Ohio's bioscience membership and development organization, we are focused on networking the distributed and outstanding bioscience assets of Ohio to accelerate growth of a globally competitive bioscience industry. These assets include:4 of the nation's top 15 pediatric hospitals, 3 of the top 20 heart and heart surgery centers, and 4 of the top 20 nationally ranked teaching hospitals ;Columbus-headquartered Battelle Memorial Institute, the largest global contract research organization ;more than 10% of Fortune 35 companies including Cardinal Health and Procter & Gamble, both leaders in biosciences ;academic research institutions that rank among the top nationally in technology conversion and commercialization ; and
