The Ohio Department of Natural Resources - Division of Water conducts ground water mapping and research, develops water supply studies and insures the safety of existing dams. It also regulates the construction of new dams and levees, governs the sale and lease of state-owned waters, maintains canal systems and administers the state floodplain management program. The division supports education through various outreach programs, including Project WET. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources - Division of Water operates a water resources section that collects, quantifies and disseminates data to assist the drilling industry, consultants, planners, the public, and local, state and federal agencies.
