I have never written a review before. When I compliment a business, I do so in person. When I have complaints, I usually keep them to myself. However, this is the one time I HAVE to make an exception.



I made my appointment and showed up 20 minutes prior to it, as customary with all doctor's appointments. Image Optical was having a "trunk show". Wine was offered, people chatted, and a vendor was displaying frames. This is typically a perfect setting for me, except for the fact that I needed a prescription for eyeglasses and contacts and prefer my appointment times to mean something.



I sat around for 45 minutes waiting. I spent the majority of that time being sold overpriced frames by a man who smelled like booze and cigarettes. Likely because he was drinking and stepped outside to smoke 3 times during my visit.



When Dr. Clark finally saw me, I thought the experience would change. Dr. Clark is very personable and intelligent. We chatted about the city, politics, and shared a few stories during my exams. I was very happy with that small portion of the experience.



After my exam, I was given a pair of trial lenses, which I'm currently wearing and can 100% confirm are not the right prescription. I was also given a free case and a trial size solution bottle. As I paid my co-pay I was charged $50. The Dr. mumbled to his assistant what the charges were and outlined, it came out to $10 for my co-pay and FORTY DOLLARS FOR A FREE CONTACT CASE AND SOLUTION.



As I mentioned at the beginning, I typically don't like to deal with business complaints because it seems a waste of time to me. I left Image Optical fired up. For the past 6 days I have been trying to contact them (unsuccessfully) because as I prepared to order contacts and glasses from a different provider (Lenscrafters) I was told my prescription is written wrong for my glasses and likely the same for contacts. I told Lenscrafters that my contacts didn't feel right and have scheduled a whole new exam with them because of this. I have left 6 messages, stopped in twice during my available times (doors locked) and even tried to reach his Westerville office just to talk to anyone who would hear me. I finally got someone to answer the phone in the Westerville office and she confirmed that my prescription was written wrong, but it was "no big deal" and just "a simple human error". To me, it is my eyesight.



I will follow up with a formal complaint to the board now that I have confirmed my prescriptions were wrong. It's really a shame. They have a great space and personable staff, but are completely unethical and incompetent.

This is the worst business in the history of eyewear. I would never ever ever make a visit here. With all the great eyewear options out there, don't waste your time.
