Established in 1919, The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors works to promote safety for life and property by ensuring uniformity in the construction, installation, repair, maintenance and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels. The board is comprised of chief boiler inspectors and represents government agencies throughout North America. It assists in maintaining quality within the boiler and pressure vessel industries through third-party inspection during the manufacturing process. The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors also provides training programs for inspectors and other industry professionals through continuing education in various disciplines. The board maintains a pressure relief testing laboratory, as well as the detailed records of all nationally registered boilers and pressure vessels.
