The Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities is a state agency that serves people with disabilities. The agency operates several bureaus, including the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, which assists people who have physical, mental and emotional disabilities and the Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired, which provides assistance to people who are blind or other visual impairments. In addition, it has the Division of Disability Determination, which in agreement with the Social Security Administration, is responsible for determining medical eligibility for Ohio's Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Insurance s claims. The Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities offers community-based assessment, vocational evaluation, personal and work adjustment, and job coaching and placement services.
