I stopped by Posh Pets Boutique in the Short North today with my 13 week old puppy. Of course the customers were enchanted with a young puppy and he (Jax) did a little pee on the unfinished wood floor. The owner of the shop was visibly irritated with this and made a large production of cleaning it up. (Why would you have an unfinished wood floor in a pet store?) Anyway, I was just there to pick up a soft Frisbee. I indicated that I didn't need a bag or the packaging as we were on our way to Goodale Park. Now get this, she actually said, "yes, you don't want to look like a couple of hillbillies carrying your trash around" and then asked if I had ID that matched the name my credit card! I have been in the Short North for over 15 years. It saddens me to see this kind of classist attitude slowly take over what has become a great neighborhood. Needless to say, I will not be shopping there again.
