ARC of Rockland serves more than 1,000 individuals with developmental disabilities from birth through the senior years. The center has a staff of more than 600 employees. It has been operating for more than 50 years in Congers, N.Y. ARC of Rockland informs and educates the public-at-large concerning the abilities of people with developmental disabilities. It is a resource for information regarding advances in the fields of medicine, education and law as they relate to people with disabilities. ARC of Rockland is a member of the human services industry within the Rockland County Community and is the go-to-agency regarding all things relevant to people with developmental disabilities. The center offers a preschool, day care center and program that utilize applied behavior analysis for children on the autistic spectrum. In addition, ARC of Rockland organizes a lakeside summer camp for teenagers that features activities, including crafts, sports, trips, swimming and boating.
