My experience with Ingle & Son Landscaping is in regards to their disregard for fleet safety. As a service business I would think job site safety would also extend to their fleet when carrying heavy loads of debris that are not secured properly on our roads. I was travelling outside of Asheville to pick up my son from daycare close to 5pm on October 4th, 2016. I noticed the Ingle & Son Landscaping truck overflowing with brush and bushes that were not secured but were coming loose and flying into the road on HWY I26. I was in the passing lane approximately 3 car lengths back when a huge bush flew off their truck and hit my car on the front passenger side and scraped all down the right hood and side of my car. I was very lucky that this didn't cause a bigger accident. I did what I was always told and I contacted the police for a report and initiated conversation with my insurance company to have an inspection completed for an official itemization of the damages and cost for repairs. The total for the damages for my 2008 Subaru Impreza was $2,275. Then I found out that this would be under my comprehensive insurance because it wasn’t a vehicle to vehicle accident and I need to pay for a deductible of $500.00 and rental car while my vehicle is being repaired approximately $300.00. I contacted the owner in hopes that he would acknowledge the unfortunate circumstance and help by paying my deductible and cost for the rental car, a total of $800.00 all together. He declined to help at all. Official liability or not, its just the right thing to do. If they have this level of disregard in this situation, I can only imagine how this character is carried into other areas of their services. So they may not be liable according to insurance policies, but the fact is, I am now out $800 because of their incompetence in securing their cargo. So FYI - If you see one of these trucks driving down the road stay far away or else you may also find yourself in this same situation.
