Maria Kyriacou, M.D., is a primary care sports medicine physician at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Kyriacou specializes in non-surgical treatments for acute, overuse and chronic orthopedic problems. She has a special interest in sports-related injuries, joint arthritis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided procedures. During her fellowship training, Dr. Kyriacou was involved in stem cell, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and amniotic regenerative orthobiologic therapy. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Greek. During her fellowship, Dr. Kyriacou was part of the medical team for the Miami Dolphins, Florida International University, St. Thomas University and Barry University. She currently serves as a team physician for Florida International University. In 2019, Dr. Kyriacou was named Resident Teacher of the Year at Phoebe Health. She has also presented at a number of sports medicine conferences and meetings.Dr. Kyriacou served as the medical director for the Sneakers Marathon in Albany, Georgia in 2018 and as the event physician for Escape to Miami and Lifetime Miami Marathon in 2019. Dr. Kyriacou provides exceptional patient care by treating her patients as if they were family. She strives to listen to each patient to determine the best approach to treatment. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Kyriacou enjoys traveling, playing soccer, kayaking, running and spending time with her family.
