Awesome place for a men's haircut, especially if you live or commute near the University metro station at UM Coral Gables!I have been getting my haircuts at Skoon Salon for several years. I expect to remain a regular customer for many more years. It's that good!It is very easy to schedule an appointment to fit my busy life. The owners are very accommodating. Walk-ins are welcomed. However, because it is a fairly small salon, I recommend you make an appointment.The salon only uses Aveda hair products. I don't care about that but you might. My experience is that Aveda hair products are somewhat costly but of excellent quality.Ruby is an outstanding hair dresser. I tend to want my hair shorter than my wife prefers but somehow Ruby always cuts my hair to the perfect in-between length. I'm not a photo model but modeling always seems like an option when you have had a hair cut here. I have always preferred a classy and easy-to-care for "James-Bond like" hairstyle, and I can get it here. The price for a regular men's haircut is very affordable, and you will like the way you look.

I have been going to the Skoon Salon for several years now and I have to say that I am more satisfied with the service, I received here than in any other hair salon in Coral Gables, I have visited. The owners are very kind, polite, respectful and friendly people, trying to accommodate your needs as best as they can. Ruby does an EXCELLENT job with her haircuts. When I started to come there, I had a different hairstyle – very short cut not requiring much care. Ruby suggested that I might consider letting my hair grow longer and trying a different hairstyle, which may suit my face even better. At the beginning, I was quite hesitant, since I was very used to my old hairstyle but eventually I followed her advice and I must say I am absolutely thrilled with the results. She made me look like a different person. Much better than before. I am VERY, VERY HAPPY with the hair I have now. The haircut looks always good, even several weeks after I visited the salon. My hair is healthier now since I use the Aveda products, which she recommended to me. I receive lots of complements from other people about how beautiful and healthy my hair looks. My old friends hardly recognize me with my new hairstyle, saying that this hair makes me look so much healthier and younger. Ruby pays a lot of attention to the needs of her clients. She makes a good judgment about which style may fit your look the best. She is an excellent hair stylist. Her haircuts are very professional. She explains every step of what she is doing and pays attention to your concerns and wishes (as opposed to many other hair stylists who just pretend to listen to you and still do what they want to). Since I asked her what kind of products she would recommended me to use to keep my hair healthy and having the desired look she told me about a shampoo and conditioner which I could use and an Aveda styling gel which helps to keep my curly and frizzy hair under control. Since I started to use these products my hair changed so much for the better. It has a nice, soft texture, healthy shine and great natural curls rather than a frizzy look. I have been following her advice since I started to use these products, and I must say I am very satisfied. I have recommended this salon to several friends and they were also very satisfied with the service they receive there.
