So, my boyfriend and I have gone to this store 4 times. Each time we have visited they have been late to open, now not 10 or 20 mins late that is acceptable. They have been hours late to open. Now today we went in to purchase rat pups for our ball python and typically haven't had an problems. The rats we received today are sick, our python wont even attempt to eat the first one. that's when I decided to take a loser look at them. they were lethargic and pooping all over themselves. I decided to quarantine them to see if I could save them and eventually feed them to our snake, sadly one of them passed away a few hours later but at least had comfort before she passed. Now just because we feed animals to other animals does not mean we are cold hearted and enjoy their pain. I am an aspiring veterinarian and avid animal lover, my boyfriend decided he had wanted another rat pup, seeing as how I wanted to keep one, he went back inside alone to purchase another. My boyfriend was very upset when he came back to the car. Apparently the owner, Joe I believe, decided to show my boyfriend a scorpion but not just in a "Hey aren't they cool" kind of way no, no, no. This horrid man decided he wanted to throw a pinkie into the container to watch it sting the poor thing, for fun. WE WILL NO LONGER USE THIS STORE, EVER. We have decided to make the extra drive to strictly reptiles in Riverside off of Tyler st and highly suggest you do the same. Hopefully I will be able to restore the health of the other rat pup. Just because they are bred for food DOES NOT mean they deserve this treatment.
