A man is only as good as his word.





I want to share our personal experience about the US Taekwondo Center at 2363 California Ave, Corona, CA 92881. First off, we picked this particular center as it was located conveniently close to home and it did not have any reviews as it was a new center. I highly urge you not to consider this center for Taekwondo for your children as the owner who is also the instructor not only lacks integrity but is a seasoned scam artist.





Our daughter was only 4 and to build her confidence my husband decided to attend classes with her too. We signed a one year contract in March 2014 with Mr. Shin (owner) and the package we signed up for also came with 2 free uniforms; However, after a few months into the contract, due to my husband’s new work schedule, it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to attend the classes. He then had a meeting with Mr. Shin do discuss if he could break the contract and create a new one. Mr. Shin suggested that instead of breaking the contract, and losing $200 he would give us an additional 6 months (April –Sept 2015) for our daughter after the contract expired (he then had 50% off for the second person). We accepted the offer as it was fair and kept the contract as is; little did we know that he was playing us. A week after the last payment was made in January 2015, Mr. Shin wanted to discuss a new contract!! My husband and I went to meet him. He said he couldn’t let us continue for 6 months after the contract expired in March 2015! He wanted us to sign a new one year contract first and then make 7 payments, after which he would give us 5 months credit (note 6 months went down to 5 months; this was after reducing cost ($100) of the supposedly “free” uniform). On asking why he wouldn’t honor his own words he simply said “IT’S JUST NOT FAIR!!” and this he suddenly decided after 9 months. The brilliance of his plan was to promise us 6 months so that we don’t break the contract, then wait until the last payment was made to make the final move!!! He had a legal foolproof plan as he did not make any amendments to the contract. All he changed was his word!!!





When we send our children to a Master to learn from, we obviously hold them to a higher standard. This man is no master he’s just a greedy, crafty, dishonorable man. We pulled our daughter at that very moment even though we still had 2 months on the contract. He doesn’t see innocent children, all he sees is dollar signs running around. Who is to say after dropping your child off and at pick up time they are not there?? He is somebody who would say “YOU NEVER DROPPED YOUR CHILD OFF”!! That’s the kind of unscrupulous man at play here. We work 18 hrs/day so that we can give our children more than we ever had and to be blatantly cheated was truly shocking. For all unsuspecting parents out there, let our experience never be yours. It was simply heartbreaking!!
